MANSFIELD -- Janet Sue Beatty Compton, our precious mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, passed away after a long, courageous battle with emphysema Thursday, March 4, 2010. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield. Interment: Mansfield Cemetery. Born in Hobart, Okla., on Aug. 30, 1942, Janet was the daughter of G.P and Helen Flay Beatty. Those who were fortunate to know and love Janet will remember her laughter, sense of fun, strength and great determination and her ability to make us feel loved and at home. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. Janet was so very proud of her children and grandchildren; they were her life. The love of her life, James Jerome Compton, preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1994. Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Debbie Compton of Kilgore, Neb.; son and daughter-in-law, John and Tina Compton of Burleson; daughter and son-in-law, Jenifer and Michael Couch of Mansfield; grandchildren, Cody, Jamie, Briana, Tyler, Katie and Brianna; brother and sister-in-law, Eldon and Maxine Beatty; sister, Norma Sanford; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
