ARLINGTON -- Jean M. O'Neil of Arlington and formerly of East Chicago, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010. Service: Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Arlington. Inurnment: Will take place in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Miss O'Neil spent the largest part of her life in East Chicago, Ill. She graduated from Roosevelt High School, attended Indiana University, and was one of the first WAVES from East Chicago in World War II. She was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority and was an employee of American Airlines for 37 years before she retired. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret O'Neil, prominent East Chicago early settlers. Survivors: Dear friends, Gary Schwartz of Arlington, Mary Whelan of East Chicago, Jean Ladd of Indianapolis, Ind., Suzanne Graefen of Stevensville, Mich.; and several cousins.
