FORT WORTH -- Jennie Kriesberg, 84, a loving mother and grandmother, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 21, 2007. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery. Rabbi Alberto Zeilicovich and Javier Smolarz, ritual director, officiating. Memorials: Mrs. Kriesberg's family requests that no flowers be sent. Consideration of contributions to Congregation Ahavath Sholom or a charity of one's choice is suggested. A native of Chicago, Ill., Jennie was born Feb. 19, 1923, the daughter of Sam and Lillie Kriesberg. She was married to Ed Kriesberg, who died in 2004. Jennie was an accomplished soloist who sang publicly and was known as the "Voice of Fort Worth." She was a 60-year member of Congregation Ahavath Sholom, and a lifetime member of Hadassah, B'nai B'rith and former president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors: Daughter, Leslie Kriesberg Callis and John Palin of Austin; sons, Ricky Kriesberg and his wife, Gail, of Coral Springs, Fla., and Sandy Kriesberg and his wife, Jane, of Troy, Ohio; grandchildren, Dawn Kriesberg Goldstein and her husband, Dr. Zoie Goldstein, and Keith, Sean and Seth Kriesberg.
