HURST -- Jesse Denning Sanders Sr., a loving, caring man in every respect, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, in Fort Worth after an extended illness. Graveside service: 10:30 a.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorial service: 1:30 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church of Hurst. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd., Hurst. Mr. Sanders was born March 31, 1930, in Mexia to John Thomas Sanders Jr. and Bess Denning Sanders. He graduated from Mexia High School, Schreiner Military Institute in Kerrville, and Baylor University in Waco. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He married Virginia Belle Mullins, April 9, 1960, in the Little Chapel-in-the Woods on the Texas Woman's University campus, Denton. Mr. Sanders retired as a vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas after 38 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hurst. He enjoyed family, fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Survivors: Wife, Virginia; sons, Jess Denning Sanders Jr. and his wife, Marcia, and Joel Bruce Sanders and his wife, Cela; daughter, Carole Maribess Jones and her husband, Tim; grandchildren, John and Timothy Lee, Jacy and Hannah Sanders, Jordan and Jessie Sanders, Caressa and Tiffani Jones; brother, John Thomas Sanders III and wife, Margaret; sisters-in-law, Linda M. Stanisci and husband, Michael A., Laura Jackson and husband, Jay; brothers-in-law, Wayne Scott and wife, Jean, Harold Mullins and wife, Gail, and Robert Mullins and wife, Diana; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
