Jimmie Miertschin

ARLINGTON -- Jimmie Ann Wolters Miertschin, 78, passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2009. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Jerrold Miertschin Scholarship Fund at Sam Houston High School in Arlington. Jimmie was born in Denton County on Aug. 28, 1931, the daughter of R. T. and Alma Wolters. She graduated from Lewisville High School. Jimmie was a homemaker, an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking for others. She was very active in her church: a longtime member of LWML, quilting for Lutheran World Relief, board of trustees, and in charge of the Angel Tree Program for the Nelson Home in Denton. The family would like to thank Lighthouse Hospice and The Plaza at Mansfield for their care of our mother. She was preceded in death by husband, R.E. "Randy" Miertschin, and son, Jerrold Miertschin.
