FORT WORTH -- James "Jim" McNeill Davis passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at 11:25 a.m. He had been in intensive care at a local hospital since July 11, following complications from a ruptured appendix. He was 74 years old. Funeral: The service celebrating his life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Romans VIII Church in Fort Worth, and was arranged by Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. There will not be a prior viewing, but the family will be honored to visit with friends from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to his service. His body will be buried in the Kelley Family Cemetery in Murfreesboro, Ark., on Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. Memorials: The family would like for anyone who wishes to make a charitable donation to do so in Jim's name to the North Richland Hills Animal Shelter. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the ICU nurses who cared for him night and day during his brief illness. Survivors: His wife of 54 years, Karen; daughter, Dawn Dean and her husband, Mike; daughter, Renee' Lane; grandson, Stephen Cade; grandson Jordan Lane; granddaughters, Katlyn and Kendall Lane; and sister, Jane Dunaway and her husband, Bill.
