KENNEDALE -- Jo Ann "Nanny" Flowers, 78, a retired TWC bookkeeper, went to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at a local hospice. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Kennedale, 309 N. Kenney. Interment: 3 p.m. Thursday at Woodside Cemetery in Grand Saline. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Blessing Funeral Home, 401 Elm St., Mansfield. Memorials: First Baptist Church of Kennedale. Nanny was born in Van Zandt County on Sept. 13, 1932, the daughter of Frank and Ollie Washmon. On June 23, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, R.E. Flowers, in Grand Saline. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kennedale where she taught Sunday school for 30 years and was a member of B.S.F. She was the No. 1 fan of the Kennedale LadyKats volleyball team and was an active member of the Chug-Hole Lane bridge club. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spoiling her grandchildren. She loved entertaining family and friends. Survivors: Brother, Bruce Washmon and wife, Bobbie, of Fort Worth; son, Lannie Flowers and wife, Linda, of Kennedale; daughter, Lisa Swiney and husband, Larry, of Houston; grandchildren, Tyler and Chase Swiney, and Shelby Flowers; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
