MANSFIELD -- Joan Gardner, 66, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, 601 Pleasant Ridge Drive, Mansfield. Memorials: Donations may be made to Community Hospice of Texas, attention Emery J. Lilge Hospice House, 301 Medpark Circle, Burleson 76028; or to First United Methodist Church, Mansfield. Joan was born May 17, 1941, in Gorman to Billie and Mary Cockrill Hamrick. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a successful escrow officer, helping to start the first title company in Mansfield. Joan was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Mansfield and a dedicated member of Bible Study Fellowship. She thoroughly enjoyed studying the Bible alone and with friends. She was a dear friend to many as she was a great listener and confidante. Joan will be best remembered for her laughter and devotion to God. Survivors: Husband of 21 years, Jim Gardner; children, Brian Kunz and wife, Dawna, Kathy Fuller, Bart Gardner, Megan McClendon and husband, Gabe; brother, Bill Hamrick and wife, Joy; sister, Kay Rifkin; grandchildren, Zander, Adam, Raemy, Bryce, Grant, Kaitlyn and Kylie.
