KELLER -- John E. Boykin, 82, peacefully passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012, at his home in the presence of his loving family. He was the best husband, father and granddaddy ever. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church of Keller, 225 Keller Parkway, Pastor, the Rev. Keith Sanders, officiating. Interment will follow the service in Bourland Cemetery, Keller. Visitation: John will lie in state at Lucas Keller Funeral Home, 137 E. Hill St. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. John E. Boykin was born Jan. 16, 1930, in Decatur to John E. and Clara Boyd Boykin. John E. Boykin and Vesta Jo Jenkins were married and celebrated 59 wonderful years together. John and Vesta have been members of First Baptist Church of Keller for more than 40 years. He was a successful salesman for Bell Ice Cream, Morton Foods and Farmer Brothers. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his eight brothers and sisters. Survivors: Wife, Vesta Jo Boykin; daughters, Nancy McDonald and Kevin, Ginger Westbrook and Mike, and Jonese Spence and John; grandchildren, Tyler Westbrook, Kelly Westbrook and Tiffany Brock, Jordan Spence and Jennifer, Rylan Spence and Melissa Ward, Randi Spence, Lee Ann McDonald, and James McDonald; and great-grandchildren, Brianna Westbrook and Reid Westbrook.
