John Busby

HURST -- John L. Busby passed away peacefully at home Saturday afternoon, Sept. 13, 2008, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bellevue Baptist Church, 625 W. Pipeline, Hurst. The Rev. Jerry Paulding, pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Jeff Burnett of First Baptist Church of Hurst. Interment: 4 p.m. Wednesday in Gethsemane Cemetery, Caddo, Okla. Visitation: John will lie in state Tuesday afternoon at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, with the family receiving friends 6 to 8 p.m. John was born April 9, 1933, in Caddo, Okla., to Tillman and Rosa Lee Busby. He and Robbie Trimmer were married Nov. 21, 1952. John served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He was stationed in Germany for 18 months. John and Robbie have lived in Hurst since 1956. He retired from Grief Brothers Corp. in 1998 as a purchasing agent. John loved to hunt and spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church of Hurst. The family would like to express appreciation to Caroline Lane of Bishop Hospice and to Oak Hollow Alzheimer's care center. John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry Busby, Edward Busby and Jerry Busby; sister, Frankie Cloyd; and grandson, Scott Alan Naugle. Survivors: John is survived by his beloved wife, Robbie D. Busby; daughters, Terry Lea Naugle and her husband, Eddie, of Rhome and Leslie Anne Pierce and her husband, Randy, of Bedford; granddaughters, Lisa Kaye Bush and her husband, Cresendo, of Humble, Kristina Lea Girau and her husband, Adolfo, of Watauga and Lauren Rhea Barlow and her husband, Richard, of Hurst; grandson, Ryon Lee Pierce and fiancee, Michelle Cook, of College Station; great-grandchildren, Adain Myles Girau, Tristan Matteo Girau, Brock Anthony Barlow, Isabella Anne Barlow and Johnathan Henry Bush; sister, Gaylene Love and husband, Kelly, of Caddo, Okla.; brother, Thomas Busby and wife, Eldean, of Delano, Calif.; dear sister-in-law, Charlotte Busby of Caddo, Okla.; several nieces and nephews; a host of wonderful friends and neighbors; and Missy, John's special little Pomeranian, who will miss him very much.
