ARLINGTON -- John Washington Cartwright III, 52, a beloved husband and father, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, 777 N. Walnut Creek Drive, Mansfield. Burial: Friday in Alabama. Memorials: Donations can be made to the John Cartwright Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of Construction Education Foundation, Box 612107, D/FW Airport, Texas 75261-2107. John was employed at Austin Commercial as a construction superintendent and worked with many wonderful and caring colleagues. He was instrumental in establishing the Austin Commercial E.V. Brown Golf Tournament, benefiting the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for children. He was also involved passionately with the Construction Education Foundation. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Neva Cartwright, and father-in-law, J.B. Johnson. Survivors: He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family, including his wife, Pat; daughters, Katie and Mary Ann and husband, Jason Williams; son, Ben; mother-in-law, Mary Johnson; siblings-in-law, Buddy and Ginger Johnson, Johno and Mary Weed and Jack and Teri Johnson; and seven nieces and nephews.
