Corcoran. After graduating from Phoenix Union High School, he served an enlistment in the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of sergeant, an accomplishment that he always held dear.        Returning to Phoenix, John discovered that one of the neighborhood girls, who had been way too young to notice earlier, was now a college freshman and someone he immediately wanted to ask out. John married the love of his life, Sharon, on Dec. 20, 1956, and devoted the next 53 years to loving and caring for his family.        In April 1957, John and Sharon moved to California, where he worked for Shell Oil Co. and attended night school, first at Long Beach City College, then at California State University at Long Beach. He was excited to join the Saturn program at North American Aviation upon graduation. In 1966, the Corcoran family moved to Atlanta and then settled permanently in Fort Worth two years later. In all, John worked for Lockheed Martin and its predecessor companies for 41 years.        His years in Fort Worth were rich in activities with his children, his advancing career and maintaining and driving his treasured sports cars. During his sons' formative years, he was active in Indian Guides and Boy Scouts of America, becoming a member of the Order of the Arrow and serving as an assistant scoutmaster and scoutmaster.        John will be remembered as an inspiring and loving husband, father, grandfather and beloved friend. His wit, his optimism and his smile will remain with us always.        He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley John Corcoran.        Survivors: In addition to his wife, Sharon, John is survived by his children, U.S. Air Force Col. Kimberly J. Corcoran and son, Brian William Corcoran and his wife, Melanie; grandchildren, Brandon, Katelyn, Collin and Emily; and beloved life-long friends, Patrick Neal, Carolyn and Jerry Taylor, Diane and Bob Fessler, and Lorraine and George Cuprak.
