HURST -- John Breckenridge Gibson, 46, a man with a heart as big as Texas, completed the ultimate motorcycle ride all the way to heaven Sunday, June 26, 2011. Celebration of life: John's life will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd., Hurst. Interment: Bear Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. John was born Dec. 10, 1964, in Salinas, Calif. He was a police sergeant for over 20 years with the UT System police in Dallas. John was a proud member of the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club and loved riding his bike. John had many hobbies, including traveling, dancing, fishing, hunting and golfing. He took a lot of pride in his pristine yard and pool. John loved to eat and spend time with his babies. He was an entertainer. He always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. No one will ever forget his one-legged happy dance. John will be sorely missed by all that knew him. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Beverly Gibson; and son, Christopher Gibson. Survivors: Loving wife of eight years, Diane Fox Gibson; his babies (puppies), Remi and Rowdy; sisters, Beverly and Trisha Gibson; and numerous extended family members and friends.
