BEDFORD -- John Ross Goodloe, 91, a loving husband, father, grandfather and devoted friend to many, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Sunday at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 2701 Harwood Road. The Rev. Robin Valdez will officiate. Memorials: His memory may be honored with contributions to Emmanuel Presbyterian Church or Habitat for Humanity. John, son of Charles and Lena Goodloe, was born Dec. 15, 1921, in Portales, N.M. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a glider pilot during World War II. He had a diverse career as a carpenter, home builder and real estate developer. He was a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church and volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. John was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Doris Smith Goodloe. Survivors: Son, John Paul Goodloe and wife, Marilyn; daughters, Frances Lynde Gilbert and husband, Tommy, Karen Janice McCabe and husband, Bruce, and Anne Lori Unrue and husband, Bruce; grandchildren, Misty Flanary, Mark Gilbert, Emily Unrue, Daniel Unrue and Leah Goodloe; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Sydney Gilbert, and Emma and David Flanary; and numerous nieces and nephews.
