Colonel John Steven "Jack" Hubert, USAF (Ret.) June 24, 1938 - July 16, 2009 Colonel John Steven "Jack" Hubert was born to Rodney and Magdalene Hubert on June 24, 1938 in Plaquemine, LA. He graduated from Plaquemine High School in 1956 and the University of Southwest Louisiana in 1960. Col. Hubert served for 30 years in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam War veteran. He was a Master Navigator with more than 4,000 flying hours. His career culminated in the position of Comptroller of Non-Appropriated Funds for all the Air Force's MWR activities while stationed at Randolph AFB. He retired in San Antonio, TX, where he continued his love for playing racquetball and flying his ultra-light aircraft. In 2004, he moved with his wife to Dallas, TX. He was a respected leader of men, with a strong sense of integrity and a can do spirit. His patriotism could only be rivaled by his love of family and friends. Col. Hubert passed away July 16, 2009. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Unni, his three sons Steven, Lars, and Nils, his sister Earle Hubert Wagley and her husband Hugh Wagley, his daughters-in-law Jeannie and Jill, and four grandchildren.
