John Hunter

John C Hunter passed away on July 21, in Southlake Texas, at 89 years of age. He will be buried Wednesday July 28th at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. John was born April 5, 1921, in Sabetha, Kansas. He proudly served his country in U S Army for 32 years, retiring in 1972 as a Chief Warrant Officer III. His service included WWII, Vietnam and Korea. He was recognized for his outstanding service with the following honors: WWII Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army of Occupation WWII (Germany) Medal, Good Conduct Medal (3rd), American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1st OLC), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal - Korea, and the armed Forces Reserve Medal. John received a Bachelors Degree from the University of Maryland and also Associate Degrees in Real Estate and Electronics. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Gladys and his parents Charles Roy Hunter and Janie Clark Hunter. John is survived by his wife, Ann Hunter; daughters Bonnie Groves, Susan Hunter, Patricia Calkins and Mary Beth Bohn; son, John C. Hunter II; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by ALL!
