John McNiel

John Jackson McNiel believed in a life of service, a life of honor, a life full of family, friends and laughter. Found on his parent's, Mr. and Mrs. John I. McNiel, front porch on August 31, 1917, John began his life of love, service, laughter and patriotism. Jack served his country and his church. He loved his beloved wife, Estelle, and was a wonderful father to his daughters, Sharon and Jacque. He was their life coach and also coached their church softball team. Among his many accomplishments were: VFW Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7837 Life Member, District Commander VFW District 21-1953-1954, 35th Division Association 137th Infantry Co. E, Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, American Legion Post 0655, Masonic Lodge Life Member, D.A.V. Life Member, Riverside Lions Club, Faith United Methodist Church, Christian Homebuilders Class. He was indeed one of the "greatest generation". Preceded in death by his wife Estelle and a daughter Jacque Winkler. Survivors: Daughter, Sharon K. McNiel, Grandsons; Jason Edward Leach, Jeffrey Todd Winkler, Grandaughters; Jennifer Kay Anile and Laurie Ann Winkler, Beloved Great Grandchildren; Zairyn Nicole Anile, Hailey Elizabeth Leach, Kaitlin Winkler, Kerstin Winkler, Jenna Winkler, Jackson Wayne Winkler, Son-in-Law; Wayne Winkler.
