John Nantz

John was born Aug. 7, 1936, in Richmond, Va., the son of Cleveland and Margaret Howell Nantz. Mr. Nantz was honorably discharged from both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. He married Sondra Hampshire in Colleyville on April 27, 1991. John loved to square dance and for the past two years held an appointed office in the State Federation of Square and Round Dance Association, was president-elect for the Heart of Texas Square and Round Dance district and served eight years as an appointed officer in the North Texas Square and Round Dance Assc. He also was secretary of the Twin Bridges Prommen8er Square Dance Club, a member of Buttons and Bows Square Dance Club and T-Square Gadabouts. Mr. Nantz retired from American Airlines as an aviation maintenance technician after 37 1/2 years. He was an avid gardener, woodworker and world traveler. Survivors: Wife, Sondra Nantz; children, Jimmy Earl Nantz, Katherine Elaine Klueber, Melissa Kay Stroud, Teresa Jean Leon and Charles Raymond Nantz; 12 grandchildren; cousin, Brian Nantz; and ever-loving faithful companion, Admiral Pepper.John was preceded in death by a daughter, Maggie Wilson.Memorials donations may be made in Johns name to the American Cancer Society, Mansfield Relay for Life.
