KELLER -- John Mance Schumacher, 58, a beloved husband and father, passed from this earthly life Saturday, June 28, 2008. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Worship Center of Peace Lutheran Church. Interment: 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Shiner Cemetery, Shiner. Visitation: The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Lucas Hurst Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. John was born Jan. 21, 1950, in Meridian to John and Frances Schumacher. He was baptized Feb. 26, 1950, and was confirmed May 26, 1963, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clifton. John attended Meridian public school and graduated from UT-Arlington with a degree in engineering. John married Lavonne Wehmann on Dec. 22, 1978, at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Fort Worth. They were blessed with four precious children. John was employed for 32 years with the Federal Aviation Administration and worked with instrument landing systems throughout the United States and several foreign countries. He was a devoted husband and father with a lifelong faith in Christ. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:8-10. Survivors: Wife, Lavonne Schumacher; and children, David, Scott, Anna and Andrew.
