BEDFORD -- Johnny Maldonado, 53, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church Colleyville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of choice. Johnny was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., on April 29, 1959, and graduated from U.S. Grant High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for 8 years. He started his career with the U.S. Postal Service in 1985 followed by transferring to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service in 1999. He continued his career with the USPS-Office of the Inspector General as a forensic computer analyst. Johnny enjoyed photography, spending time with his sons at the gun range, and being with his family around his pool. He loved being Papa to his baby girls and they were the light of his life. He will be lovingly remembered and missed. Johnny's final gift was to help others with his donation to LifeGift. Johnny was preceded in death by parents, Leonard and Julia Maldonado, and three brothers, Tony, Art and Leonard Jr. Survivors: Wife, Sharon; son, Adam and his wife, Mollie, and daughter, Hailey: son, Robert and daughter, Adrian "AJ" and Reese; sister, Olivia Garza; with many extended family and close friends.
