JUANITA REEDER

FORT WORTH -- Juanita Kibler Reeder, a retired FWISD teacher, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, March 12, 2011, during her 83rd year.        Service: 11:30 a.m. Monday at Arborlawn United Methodist Church, 5011 Briarhaven Road. Following a committal service at 3 p.m. Monday, Juanita will be laid to rest next to her husband, Harold, in Rosemound Cemetery, Commerce. Visitation: Family and friends will gather at the church to share laughter and tears on Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.        Memorials: Consideration of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, Community Hospice of Texas or to a charity of one's choice, in her memory, is suggested.        Born in Greenville on Sept. 14, 1927, Juanita was the daughter of George and Cleo Alexander Kibler. Being a member of the "Greatest Generation," she lived the Great Depression, the war years and the boom years. Her experiences conditioned her thinking into what she was known for: unconditional love, care, nurturing, religion, thoughtfulness, patience and frugality.        Juanita graduated from the Training Center at East Texas State Teachers College before graduating from East Texas State Teachers College. During her college years, she was a member of the original Kalir Klub, Eta Epsilon and Alphi Chi. She was selected to "Who's Who in American Colleges" and was an accomplished piano and organ player.        She married Harold Lemon Reeder in 1947 and lived in Houston, Shreveport, La., Wilburton, Okla., and moved to Fort Worth in 1960. Mrs. Reeder taught from 1961 to 1984 at William James Junior High, Polytechnic and Arlington Heights high schools and J.P. Elder Middle School. Once asked, "How many times do you tell a student the same thing?" Her reply was, "Till they learn!"        In retirement, she and Harold had a fondness for RV trailering all over the U.S., which brought them many new friends. They especially enjoyed the "coolness" of the mountains.        Juanita had a wonderful church life as well. She was a member of Westcliff United Methodist Church where she and Harold also met new friends who enjoyed to play bridge. Her love of children found her volunteering at Cook Children's Medical Center for over 10 years, where she was named "Volunteer of the Year."        She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1996, and her parents.        Survivors: In addition to her daughter, Louise of Arlington, Juanita is survived by her sons, H. Warner Reeder and Becky of Amarillo and C. Lynn Reeder and Rozlyn of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Stephanie Tremper and Daniel of Corinth, Allison Sheffield and J.J. of Bixby, Okla., and Jacci Reeder of Arlington; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Max; and brother, Alex W. Kibler and Shirley of Beeville.
