FORT WORTH -- Judy Philetus Petty Hedberg, 67, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully Monday morning, July 14, 2008, at her residence. Service: 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Oaklawn Cemetery, Decatur. Following committal prayers, Judy will be laid to rest with her parents. Memorials: Judy had a great love for animals and always had several she was taking care of. Therefore, consideration of contributions to the Humane Society of North Texas, in her memory, is suggested. A lifelong resident of Fort Worth, Judy was born Nov. 22, 1940, the daughter of Tully Judson and Philetus Adcock Petty. She married John Hedberg in 1970. John said, "Judy was the beautiful model of a woman." She was very oriented and dedicated to her work at General Dynamics, now Lockheed Martin. She was an expert typist and very intelligent. Judy had a great sense of humor and was fun to be with. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Survivors: Judy is survived by her husband, John of Fort Worth; her sons, Michael Tully Atkinson and his wife, Kim, and Murray Dawson Atkinson and his wife, Leslie, their children, Joe and Julie Atkinson; John's son, Michael John Hedberg and his wife, Susan; John's daughter, Kathy Hedberg Ranson, and their children, Jason Hedberg and Stacy Ranson.
