KELLER -- Karen Louise Wiegmann, 59, passed away Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Lucas Funeral Home, 137 E. Hill St., Keller. Karen was born in Pasadena, Calif. When an accident left her paralyzed at 16 years old, she went on to get her bachelor's and master's degrees. She then fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. She taught elementary school in Rialto, Calif., for 27 years. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Karen's numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews loved and admired her, along with the rest of her family. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Manning; one sister, Sue Manning Bath; one brother, Steven Manning; and brother-in-law, Ron Douglas. Survivors: She leaves behind her mother, Suzanne Manning of Keller; sisters, Kathleen Douglas of Keller and Teresa Waddell of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother, David Manning of Big Bear City, Calif.; and former husband, Charles Wiegmann.
