Slay Memorial Funeral Center Aubrey, Texas Kenneth Lee Woods of Aubrey passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011. He was born on August 6, 1955 to Margaret Coleman Hill and Eugene Woods in Livingston, Texas. He married Lana Kay Jenkins on April 21, 1980 in Denton, Texas. He was the father of one child, Kristin Leigh Woods of Frisco, TX. Kenneth graduated from high school and earned an Associate Degree from Cooke County College in Mid-Management. Kenneth was a self-employed paint contractor and the owner of KLK Painting for over 25 years. Kenneth was an active member and Deacon at First Baptist Church, Denton. He served on the Planning & Zoning Committee and Aubrey City Council. He was also an active volunteer with the FFA of Celina. A funeral service for Kenneth Lee Woods will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Slay Memorial Funeral Center Chapel in Aubrey, Texas. Visitation will be Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in Slay Memorial Funeral Center. Burial will follow the service Monday at Belew Cemetery in Aubrey, Texas. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Lana Kay of Aubrey; one daughter, Kristin Woods of Frisco; parents, Margaret and Delbert Hill of Lancaster, TX, Eugene and Bobbie Woods of Lancaster, TX. Also surviving is one brother, Melvin Woods of Oak Leaf, TX; one sister, Elaine Hansen and husband, James of Sachse, TX. He is also survived by mother in law, Jane & Bob Olmon of Aubrey, TX; father in law, Alvin & Gloria Jenkins of Campo, CO, as well as brothers in law Vincent & Teena Jenkins of Fayetteville, AR and Russ & Susie Olmon of Rockwall, TX. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Celina FFA Alumni Association at 3455 N. Preston Road, Celina, TX 75009.
