Larry Johnson

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Larry Paul Johnson, 70, passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 2009.        Graveside service: 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst.        Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Springtown Senior Center, Box 872, Springtown, Texas 76082.        Larry was placed in an orphanage at age 7 and got out when he was 18. He joined the Air Force and spent 20 years serving his country. After retiring, he worked as a building inspector for the city of Fort Worth for 20 years. Larry enjoyed playing racquetball and dancing at Springtown.        He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen Johnson; two brothers, Raymond and Edward Johnson; and one sister, Anna Yeager.        Survivors: Loving wife of 38 years, Lela Johnson; children, Wade Johnson, Kari Johnson, Anita Luchsinger, Vicki McNeill, Randy Holden, Nancy Matheny and Marsha Mathews; grandchildren, Bailey, Shelby, Katelyn, Dannialle, Drew, China, Nixon and Carty; great-grandchildren, Sasha and Devin; sister, Eleanor Hinton; brothers, Richard and Russell Johnson; stepgrandchildren, David, Sam, Katrina, Andy, Jennifer, Justin, Monica and Ashley; 22 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a host of friends and other family.
