KELLER -- Laurel Lynn Metts, 40, went to heaven in her home on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Keller, 225 Keller Parkway, with Pastor Keith Sanders officiating. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Tumor Foundation, ctf.org. Laurel, the only daughter of Kenneth Wallace and Myra Lawhon was born Sept. 22, 1972, in Fort Worth. In 1998 she married the love of her life, Nathan Metts, and they spent the next 14 years as the best of friends. Laurel was active in the community, volunteering with Make-A-Wish, the Children's Tumor Foundation, the local and state PTA, and her church. Laurel joined First Baptist Church of Keller in 2010 and was a faithful and active member. She used her time on earth to minister to those in need and help anyone she thought needed it. She touched all whom she met and she will live on in our hearts forever. Laurel was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Wallace and Myra Lawhon Bumpers. Survivors: Husband, Nathan Metts, daughter, Sara, both of Fort Worth; mother-in-law, Margaret Metts of Hurst; sister-in-law, Camille Herl and husband, John, and nephew, Alexander, of North Richland Hills; stepfather, Roy Bumpers of Richardson; sister, Linda Carter and husband, Barry, and niece, Abigail, and nephew, William, of Sulphur, Okla.; uncle, David Lawhon and wife, Sue, of Arlington; uncle, James Lawhon and wife, Becky, of Tennessee; and many cousins and wonderful friends.
