FORT WORTH -- Lawrence Wilson Jernigan Sr., 92, of Fort Worth passed away peacefully Sunday, July 18, 2010, at a local hospital. Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home, 517 N. Sylvania Ave., Fort Worth. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Jernigan Sr. is available upon request at LWJ.flyjets@yahoo.com. Lawrence was born Jan. 26, 1918, to Reuben and Nora Jernigan of Bedford. He was the youngest of three children. He was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge (750th Tank Battalion) in World War II. L.W. Jernigan was a successful businessman who owned and operated Auto Color Co. of Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, U.Z. Jernigan. Survivors: Lawrence will be remembered by his loving wife, Mary Lou Jernigan; children, Lawrence W. Jernigan Jr. and wife, Lou Ann Jones and husband; sister, Neva Jean Martin and son; grandson, Justin J. Jernigan.
