NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Leland Herbert Sparks, 78, passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010.        Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Lucas Funeral Chapel in Hurst. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.        Memorials: American Cancer Society in Leland's memory.        Leland, the son of the late Ernest Gould Sparks and Clara Jesse Potts Sparks, was born June 7, 1932, in Midwest City, Wyo. In 1956, he moved to the Mid-Cities area, where he was an accountant. Leland enjoyed hunting, especially with his grandsons. He was a member of the Haltom City Gun Club and the Grand Prairie Gun Club. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.        He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Sparks, in 2008.        Survivors: Sons, Christopher Sparks, Stephen Sparks and wife, Dana, and Jerome Sparks and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Stephen Sparks Jr. and wife, Maureen, Shane Sparks and wife, Donna, Miranda Sparks, Jared Sparks and Chad Sparks; great-grandchildren, Aubree, Dawson and Angela Sparks; and sister, Eleanor Perry and husband, Frank.
