Lenore Nottorf, 88, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at a local assisted-living center. Memorial service: A memorial service in celebration of Lenore's life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, in Lucas Funeral Home Chapel, 137 E. Hill St., Keller, with Pastor Mark D. Ingram of Words of Life Christian Center officiating. Entombment: Lenore will be laid to rest with her husband, Robert, in The Greewood Memorial Park Mausoleum, San Diego, Calif. Music has always been her passion. Lenore performed regularly with the San Francisco Opera, then moved to New York City where she met and married Robert Nottorf. Lenore and Bob moved to New Jersey and had two children. While living in New Jersey she was a founder of the Opera Theater of New Jersey and the founder and president of the American Academy of Opera in N.Y.C. as well as being a loving wife and mother. Lenore and her husband, Bob, moved to North Carolina where she was very active in PEO and was the official soloist at the International Convention in Anaheim. She was also North Carolina State president from 1987-1988. Lenore and Bob retired and moved to San Diego, Calif., where both were very active with the Musical Merit Foundation of San Diego. Lenore and Bob spent many years traveling the world and visiting their children. Lenore was preceded in death by her husband, Bob. Lenore is survived by her daughter, Kathy Beagle of Sheridan, Wyo.; son, Eric Nottorf of Fort Worth; and grandchildren, Emily and Sarah Beagle and Sean and Wendy Nottorf.
