FORT WORTH -- Leon Harry Leiderman, 85, an accomplished artist and Pearl Harbor survivor, died Friday morning, March 9, 2007, at his residence. Funeral: Services were held at Noon Tuesday in the Chapel at Robertson Mueller Harper. Rabbi Ralph Mecklenburger of Beth-El Congregation officiated. Burial: Military honors for Mr. Leiderman will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should arrive in Lane A no later than 10:45 a.m. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to a charity of one's choice in memory of Leon is suggested. A native of Ladishon, Russia, Leon Harry Leiderman was born Feb. 23, 1922, the son of Chaim and Sarah Slavin Leiderman. As an infant he immigrated to New York with his mother. Leon was serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, stationed at Hickham Field, when the Japanese attacked on Dec. 7, 1941. Mr. and Mrs. Leiderman moved to Fort Worth in 1978.
