Leon Sanders

Leon Phillip Sanders was a loving father, husband, minister, friend and counselor. He was called home to be with God on October 24, 2009, at the age of 58, surrounded by family and friends. Leon was born in Muskogee, OK, on April 21, 1951, and graduated from Muskogee High School in 1969. He moved to Arlington, Texas in 1975, and has been a resident since then. He was a minister of the gospel for 39 years, and was the senior pastor at Cornerstone Community Church for the last 22 years. Leon led countless people to the Lord through his unconventional yet compassionate manner. He will forever be remembered as an accepting, loving person who lived life to the fullest and loved unconditionally. Leon is survived by his Wife, Charla Sanders; children, Christian Phillip Sanders and wife Stephanie, Aaron Campbell Sanders and wife Heather, Cori Lynn Davis and husband Kyle; grandchildren, Jackson Campbell Davis, Faris Emily Sanders, Aubrey Lynn Davis, Aaron Phillip Sanders, Kathleen Claire Sanders; Five sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; countless friends, and a wonderful church family. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Lon and Leta Sanders, his brother Jimmy, and his sister Willie.
