FORT WORTH -- Leslie Glenn Bavousett, 50, a retired internal audit manager for the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, died peacefully Monday morning, Feb. 19, 2007, at his home. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thusday in the Chapel at Robertson Mueller Harper. His brother, Byron, will officiate. Burial: 4 p.m. Thusday in City Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford. Visitation: Les will lie in state Wednesday in the Parlor at Robertson Mueller Harper; his family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Bearers of his casket will be Jack Adney, Weldon Bryant, Curt Dearing, Jeff Fanta, Clark Johnson and Greg Ormiston. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to a charity of choice in memory of Les is suggested. A native of Fort Worth, Leslie Glenn Bavousett was born Nov. 8, 1956, the son of Glenn Byron and Hazel Ferris Bavousett. He was a 1975 graduate of Keller High School and received a B.A. degree from the University of Texas. Les worked for the state of Texas for 27 years. He was respected by the TRS staff as a caring, conscientious and dedicated professional. Active in the Austin chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors, he served as president elect, treasurer, secretary and governor. He achieved professional recognition as a certified internal auditor, certified public accountant, certified information systems auditor and certified investments and derivatives auditor. Les was also active in the Association of Public Pension Fund Auditors and the Information Systems Audit & Control Association. His personal interests included being a pilot and skydiving. Les also loved snow skiing! Survivors: Brothers, Byron Bavousett and his wife, Helen, and Ferris Bavousett and his wife, Debi; aunt, Jeanneane Bavousett Huey; nieces, Kelly Bavousett-Gurley and her husband, Barry, and Farrah Bavousett; nephew, Ferrin Bavousett; and great-nephew, Tyler Christian Gurley.
