In the late hours of Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, our beloved Lester O. Lunsford, 80, passed away peacefully into the kingdom of the Lord. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Interment: 2:30 p.m. Monday in Derden Cemetery in Covington. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Lester was born April 25, 1932, in Denton County, to Albert and Lennah Gray Lunsford. They then moved and spent most of his childhood years in Covington. Lester married his beloved wife Betty Reynolds in 1954; together they had one son and one daughter. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps at the age of 21. He spent much of his life working for Bell Helicopter. He retired from Bell in 1997 after 37 years of service to their company. Lester and Betty lived most of their lives in Fort Worth. Lester was known by many as Pa Paw and was considered a friend by most of the people he met. He spent his life making a difference for not only his own children but his entire family and friends of the community. He is highly respected and loved by all. He lived a full life of lending a helping hand and giving to numerous charities. He spent the rest of his time sharing countless memories of loving stories with his family. "Pa Paw" was loved beyond measure and will continue to be remembered through the tales he shared. Through his life, Lester loved the Lord, his family and many good friends. The legacy he leaves to his grandchildren is to love and trust the Lord and to live with class. Survivors: He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty of Fort Worth; daughter, Peggy and her husband, Paul Williams, of Lake Worth; son, Mitchell Lunsford and Lisa Falcon of Keller; brother, John and his wife, Ann Lunsford, of Killeen; sister-in-law, Hilda Lunsford of Cleburne; sister-in-law, Linda Lunsford of Palestine; aunt, Jean Lunsford of Aubrey; five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and many friends and family.
