Type Obit Here BEDFORD -- Lois Mae Wallace Homans, 90, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at a local hospital. Funeral: 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst, with visitation beginning at 4 p.m. Memorial service: Thursday, Dec. 30, Trinity United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Ohio, followed by interment under the direction of Fawcett Oliver Glass & Palmer Funeral Home. Memorials: Donations may be made in Lois' memory to Trinity United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Ohio. Lois was born in Billings, Okla., on Nov. 11, 1920, to Henry and Clara Layman Wallace and grew up in Garber, Okla., where she still has family. As a young woman during World War II she moved to Washington, D.C., and worked for the government as an administrative assistant. When the war ended she married Willard Homans and moved to his hometown of Chillicothe, Ohio, where she lived her entire married life. In Chillicothe she pursued her passion for painting and raised her family. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, past president of the Chillicothe Century Club, and was a longtime member of the Chillicothe Art League. She also worked for Mead Paper Company and Ohio University. Lois was an accomplished watercolor artist, loving mother and grandmother and a good friend to many. She was predeceased by Willard, her husband of 50 years, and siblings, Harold Wallace, Gordan Wallace and Leonard Wallace. Survivors: Children, Brian Homans (Laurie Morse) and Bruce Homans (Gloria); grandchildren, Kelly Homans, Hunter Homans and Sandy Surian; great-grandchildren, Alex, Allyson, Aubrey, Aden and Ashlyn Surian; brother, Ivan Wallace of Arlington; and many nieces and nephews.
