Lucille Hall

Mrs. Hall was born May 14, 1912, on South Jennings Avenue in Fort Worth to Robert and Madge Patton. She was the youngest of five children born to Mr. and Mrs. Patton, two of whom died during childhood. Growing up she lived in and around Fort Worth and Grapevine, moving frequently. She attended 13 schools over a 12-year period and graduated from Northside High School in 1930. She married Clarence Hall in 1931 and they moved to the Riverside area of Fort Worth, where she resided for more than 75 years. Lucille and Clarence enjoyed traveling and fishing together throughout their lives. One of their first trips was to the World's Fair in Chicago, Ill., in 1933. In later years they traveled frequently in their motor home. Early on, Mrs. Hall was employed by Monnig's and Montgomery Ward and later owned and operated a neighborhood grocery store in Riverside during the 1940s. Mrs. Hall was an active member of Riverside Baptist Church for many years where she was sometimes known as "our Mama Hall" for her open door policy among the many youth groups, family and friends who gathered at her home over the years. She enjoyed being "Grandma," playing dominoes, sewing, cooking and baking, and was especially renowned for her homemade pies. Her family remembers her best for her unconditional love, generosity, kindness and quirky sense of humor. We'll miss you. "Bless your heart." She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clarence Hall, in 1983; brother, Steve Patton; and sister, Edna Couch, Memorials: You may honor Lucille with a memorial to Universal Hospice, 5651 Bridge St., Fort Worth. Survivors: Daughter, Linda Morton and husband, Bobby, of Fort Worth; grandson, Craig Bennett and wife, Connie; great-grandson, Weston Bennett and wife, Sally; great-granddaughter, Allie Bennett, all of Eagle River, Alaska; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Roby and Naomi Shelton of Fort Worth.
