FORT WORTH -- Luda Pauline "Me-Maw" Thompson Massie, 96, a faithful Christian woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, was called home on Saturday, April 2, 2011. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Calvario Funeral Chapel, 111 W. Northside Drive in Fort Worth. Luda was born on June 18, 1914, to William and Narcissis Thompson in Sunset. She married Grady Massie on Dec. 1, 1938. They lived in White Settlement. She was a longtime employee of Cowboy Cleaners and worked with the White Settlement Independent School District when she retired. Luda was an accomplished musician, playing piano by ear for her church and many other civic groups. She loved to crochet and made beautiful doilies, blankets and doll clothes for family, friends and strangers. Luda was an avid baker who loved to make banana bread, cookies, pumpkin pie and "banana puddin' pie." Luda was preceded in death by husband, Grady Rayburn Massie, 1915-1969; son, Steve Massie; and daughter, Norene Massie. Survivors: Son, Coy Massie and wife, May; grandchildren, Laura Foley and husband, Sean, Cary Blevins and wife, Angie, Melinda Massie and Jeff Massie and wife, Melissa; great-grandchildren, Sean Vidal and wife, Katie, Gabe, Garrett, Allison, Austin, Jack and Eliana; and great-great-grandchild, Connor.
