BURLESON -- Mamie Alvis Rhoden, 98, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011, at a local healthcare facility.        Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home Chapel, 518 South West Johnson Ave., Burleson, with the Rev. Lawrence M. Hammond officiating. Interment: Following the funeral service, Mamie will be laid to rest in Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth, next to her husband, Ernest T. Rhoden, who preceded her in death, June 22, 1993. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home.        Honored to be bearers of her casket will be grandchildren, Doug Stapleton II, Rusty Milliman, Brandon Kephart, Steve Rhoden, Phil Rhoden, Glen Tunnell, Ricky Tunnell, Tyler Rhoden and Scott Kephart.        Mamie was born June 5, 1912, in Flat Creek to Lee and Vinnie Worsham Roby.        First and foremost, Mamie was a homemaker and was very proud of her family. They were the most important part of her life. She was very proud of her work and service at Harris Hospital where she worked for many years with mothers and their newborn children. She never met a stranger and was a wonderful cook.        In addition to her husband, Ernest, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Linch, and four brothers.        Survivors: Mamie is survived by son, Ernest Rhoden II and wife, Rene; daughters, Bobbie Milliman, Faye Stapleton and husband, Doug, and Sharon Ann Kephart and husband, Jerry; 11 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Jim Linch.
