NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Margaret Carter, 90, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Keller. Interment: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Memorials: Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation (member #340958), Department 560, Washington, D.C. 20042-0560, or www.womensmemorial.org, in lieu of flowers. Margaret was born Jan. 11, 1921, in Aurora, Ill. She was a proud nurse serving in the Army during World War II. As an Army spouse, she traveled extensively. Margaret was a longtime volunteer at the North Richland Hills library, where she was honored many times. She held a position as an officer for VFW Post 4695 as well as being a member of the Army Nurses Association. Margaret loved to knit and donated the hats, mittens and blankets that she made to the Salvation Army. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Graham Carter. Survivors: Daughters, Mary Robideaux and husband, Vance, and Jean Snavely and husband, Jim; son, Bob Carter and wife, Sherrie; daughter-in-law, Sue Carter; grandchildren, Ann Robideaux, Susan Griggs, Michael and Ryan Carter, and Kyle Snavely; and great-grandchild, Lauren Gray Griggs.
