VENUS -- Marie Odell Dallyn, 77, of Arlington died Monday, July 7, 2008, at the home of her oldest daughter in Venus. Memorials: Her memory may be honored with a gift to The Villa Center, 910 N. French St., Santa Ana, Calif. 92701. Born Jan. 18, 1931, to Clarence Guimond and Martha Thibeault, she was born and raised in Escuminac, New Brunswick, Canada. She moved to Montreal, Quebec, and there met her husband, Roger Bruce Dallyn. They were married July 9, 1955, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He preceded her in death April 27, 1989. She was known fondly to all of her friends as Odell, and with great affection to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Nan. In addition to her family, which she took great pride and joy in, she had a tremendous love of playing cards, following politics and baseball. The family wishes to extend its thanks to the wonderful, caring people of Community Hospice. Odell was also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Cletus and Maurice "Bing" Guimond; a sister, Mrs. Henry (Aldine) Bourget; and beloved grandson, Gregory Tintle. Survivors: Her sisters, Mrs. Israel (Doris) Durelle of Baie St. Ann, New Brunswick, Canda, Mrs. Archie (Theresa) Malley of New Castle, New Brunswick, Canada, Mrs. John (Irene) MacLennon of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and Mrs. Tony (Rosemay) Mathieu of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; son, Stephen Guimond and wife, Margaret, of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Canada; daughters, Jo Anne Malicoat and husband, Burl of Venus, Laurel Dallyn of Seattle, Wash., Gwen Dallyn of Grand Prairie and Tina Tintle and husband, James, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; grandchildren, Shayna, Bruce, Ryan, Dan, April, Leona, Jason, Cliff and Anthony; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and an abundance of friends.
