HURST -- Marion Janeil Ward Shultz passed into the gates of heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, during her 75th year. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3721 Tulsa Way, with the Rev. Erik Gronberg and the Rev. Kendra Mohn officiating. Following the service, family and friends will gather in the church's Fellowship Hall to share laughter and tears, along with lunch. Born in Fort Worth on July 22, 1935, Janeil was the daughter of Neilion and Effie Bode Ward. She and her brother, Bob, grew up in Shreveport, La., where the family moved in 1937. Janeil graduated from Fair Park High school in 1952 and attended Abilene Christian College before her marriage to James P. Shultz in 1972. They lived in Chicago, Ill., until Jim's retirement in 1989 and moved back to Fort Worth to be close to family and friends. Janeil was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served in the Altar Guild and sang in the choir. Her small camera was with her at all times and she delighted family and friends with small albums of their happy celebrations. She was an active Mary Kay consultant, making many new friends at their national conventions. She had the unique quality of never meeting a stranger and being loyal to her many friends, who lived all over the country. Some of her happiest times were attending high school reunions and keeping up with friends from her childhood. She also had a special place in her heart for children. Janeil loved her nieces and nephews and was devoted to her brother's children, loving them as her own. She was the catalyst for keeping cousins and family close. Christmas was her favorite time of year. Her tree and home was decorated after Thanksgiving and taken down on New Year's Day. Her second love was watching LSU football, wearing the team shirt and holding the stuffed team mascot, the yellow tiger. The family expresses their gratitude to the doctors and staff of Ethicus Hospital for the care and comfort given Janeil during her final illness. Janeil was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves a history of love and devotion to her family and many friends. We will miss her until we are reunited in heaven. Survivors: In addition to her husband of 38 years, Jim and his children, Arloa Burbank and Tom and Paul Shultz and Barbie, Janeil is survived by her brother, Robert L. Ward and his wife, Wanda; beloved nieces and nephews, Laura Lea Ward, Arnette Kelly and Donny, Robert L. Ward Jr. and Tony, and William Ward; and their children.
