She was born February 1, 1927, in El Paso, Texas, to the late Lester Andrew Smythe and Marie Sylvia (Armstrong) Smythe. She was a wonderful mother, homemaker and later an administrative assistant at Sears and Roebuck in El Paso, Texas. After retirement, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and gardening. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bradford Lewis Thompson, and four siblings, Lester (LA) Smythe, Andrew (Andy) Smythe, Raymond Smythe, and Marie Brennan. She is survived by her brother, Frank Smythe; three children, Debbie Zenk and her husband, Jack, of Fort Worth, David Hunter and his wife, Susie, of El Paso, Christy Whaylen and her husband, Mark, of Flower Mound; seven grandchildren, David Zenk, Ryan Zenk, Nicholas Zenk, Matthew Hunter, Daniel Hunter, Ashlee Whaylen Vaughan, and Jason Whaylen; and four great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Colton, Hunter and Catherine.
