Mrs. Aston was born in Granger, the fifth child of the Rev. Presley and Pearl Edwards Clampitt. She graduated as validictorian of her high school in Branch, Ark., and was a graduate of Central Baptist College in Conway, Ark. Mrs. Aston owned and operated Houston Arts and Crafts, and Spring Cypress Garden Center, with her husband of 50 years, E.C. Aston Jr., who preceded her in death in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Hulon, Bernard, Russell and Cullen.Survivors: Son, Robert P. and wife, Tillie Aston of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Bettye and husband John Johnson of Dallas; brothers, Walton Clampitt of Fort Worth, Edward Clampitt of Midland and Johnny Clampitt of Marshall; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.Honorary pallbearers: Grandsons, Paul Aston of Santee, Calif., Peter Johnson of Santa Fe, N.M.; and great-grandsons, Kyle Aston of Santee, Calif., and Mack Allen of Smyrna, Ga.
