ARLINGTON -- Mary Ellen Carr, 85, passed away Monday, June 9, 2008 at a local care center. Funeral service: 1 pm Thursday, Lake Arlington Baptist Church. Dr. David George will officiate. Interment will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm. Mary Ellen, the daughter of Frederick and Myrtle Sexton Reed, was born in Grapevine, August 25, 1922. She was a lifelong resident of Tarrant County. Mary was a member of Lake Arlington Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Lois Alford and husband, Claude Carr in 1984. Survivors, children, James Carr and wife, Sue, Robert Carr, Donald Carr, Sandra Russell and husband, Jess Chinske, Mary Lou Alexander and husband, Robert; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Georgia Pool.
