FORT WORTH -- Mary Makarevich Elder, 92, died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, in Fort Worth.        Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Rosen Heights Baptist Church. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Calvario Funeral Home (formerly Shannon North Funeral Chapel).        Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Texas Girls' Choir, Rosen Heights Baptist Church or The Eye Bank.        Mary was born Aug. 28, 1918, to Alexander John Makarevich and Tekla Koslov Makarevich, Russian immigrants. She grew up on the north side and graduated from the old North Side High School. She was a secretary at the Swift & Co. packing plant from 1936 until it closed in 1971.        Mary was a faithful Christian and had been a member of Rosen Heights Baptist Church since 1961. She loved music and sang in several choirs. After her retirement, she became a much-loved volunteer with the Texas Girls' Choir.        She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Nickoli; her sister, Liddie Weir; and niece, Donna Shepelwich.        Survivors: Sister, Helen Shepelwich; six nieces and nephews; 12 great-neices and great-nephews; and 10 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
