MARY KING

Born in Calhoun Falls, S.C., on June 11, 1932, Mary Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas William and Katy Cecile Lane Hagood. She was a longtime resident of Longview, where she worked for Skinner's Grocery before moving to Fort Worth in 2000 to be closer to family. Mary loved her family. She enjoyed sewing, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was quite the joker and spent her afternoons watching "Ellen" and "Oprah." In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sons, Richard Lynn King and Thomas Clay Blankenship; sister, Maurine; and brother, James Hagood. Survivors: Daughters, Marsha Strictland and her husband, Roy, of Avinger, Shirley Greer and Danny McCoy of Joshua, Elizabeth Ellison and her husband, Jerry, of Livingston, and Tina McLendon and her husband, Rick, of Fort Worth; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Melvin Hagood and his wife, Jackie, of Fort Worth; sisters, Alice Maurine Duke and her husband, Myron, of Livingston and Jewel Carter of Bells; and several nieces and nephews.
