????FORT WORTH -- Mary Helen James Pulliam, 93, died peacefully Sunday morning, Jan. 25, 2009. ?????? Funeral: 3 p.m. Wednesday in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: She will lie in state 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Robertson Mueller Harper. ?????? Mary Helen was the wife of M. Sharp Pulliam, who preceded her in death in May 1967, after 33 years of marriage. ?????? Mrs. Pulliam was on the secretarial staff of Gen. Lewis B. Hersey, head of Selective Service at its formation in 1940 in Washington, D.C., and later with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Fruit and Vegetable Division regulatory branch. She was also a part-time secretary for the Fort Worth Independent School District and a life member of the PTA of George C. Clarke Elementary School. She was a Bible student of Grace Bible Church of Fort Worth and the Word of Truth Ministry of Los Angeles, Calif. ?????? Survivors: Mary Helen is survived by her sons, M. Sharp Pulliam Jr. of Fort Worth, Kenneth Alan Pulliam of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Stephen Herrin Pulliam of Fort Worth; sister, Nancy James Scott; brother, John Hatcher "Jack" James Jr. and his wife, Murray; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and their families.
