Mary Rowell

Mary Rowell, 83, our beloved "Nana," passed away at 4:05 PM on Saturday, December 22, 2007, in Huguley Memorial Medical Center of Fort Worth, Texas.Mrs. Rowell was born February 10, 1924, in Nashua, New Hampshire, to John and Mary Keenan. She graduated from Nashua High School in 1942 and shortly after graduation joined the U.S. Navy. Mary served as a pharmacist's mate and was stationed at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and at the U.S. Submarine Base in New London, Connecticut.Mary was honorably discharged in May 1946 following the end of World War II. She worked as a long-distance telephone operator for the New England Telephone Company until her retirement in 1980. In 1985, she moved to Texas to be near her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.Mary was an amazing mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend; kind, loving and generous.
