FORT WORTH -- Mary Mitchell Seyffert, 98, died peacefully Wednesday evening, July 9, 2008. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at Robertson Mueller Harper. Her grandsons-in-law, James Williamson and Robert Martinez, will officiate. Interment: Mary will be laid to rest at 3 p.m. next to her husband, Louis, in Laurel Oaks Memorial Park, Balch Springs. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to the American Red Cross or a charity of choice. Mary Cornelia was born in Pleasant Hill, Mo., on Feb. 18, 1910, the daughter of John Ferren and Susie Ellen Rosenbaum Mitchell. She married Louis Leopold Seyffert in Pampa on Aug. 11, 1934. Together, they owned and operated The Diner in Amarillo for may years before moving to Fort Worth on Jan. 1, 1967. Mary was a lifelong Baptist and attended South Hills Baptist Church in Fort Worth. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, in 1983, and a daughter, Glenda Miles. Survivors: Her son, John A. Seyffert and his wife, Sandra, of Merkel; daughter, Carolyn Morgan and her husband, Gerald, of Fort Worth; son-in-law, Mark T. Miles of El Paso; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Carrie Mitchell Robbins of Grapevine; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
