Mary Shafer

FORT WORTH -- Mary Frances Shafer, 81, of Fort Worth passed away on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010. Memorial service: Private on Monday. Mary grew up in Fort Worth and was avid Cowboys and Longhorns fan. She enjoyed weekend cookouts with her family, drives in the country, and playing Scrabble with any and all takers. In her younger years she was an avid bowler, racking up quite a few local championship wins and trophies in various leagues around the city. She also had the most spoiled dog in town. We will miss our mom and memaw, and Chistmas will never be the same without her. But we are thankful for the many years of great memories we shared together of her. Survivors: Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years, Andy Shafer; sons and their wives, Ron and Kim Shafer of Big Spring, Mike and Yvonne Shafer of Fort Worth, Doug and Lori Shafer of Waco; grandchildren, Melody, Sara, Callie, Andrew, Kiersten, Breelin and Ethan.
