MARYANNE TOWNES

FORT WORTH -- Maryanne Townes, 56, died peacefully Friday morning, June 19, 2009, at her residence.        Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday in the sanctuary at Beth-El Congregation, 4900 Briarhaven Road. Rabbi Sidney Zimelman will officiate. Following committal prayers, Maryanne will be laid to rest in the Beth-El Section of Greenwood Memorial Park.        Memorials: Consideration of contributions to Beth-El Congregation is suggested.        Born in Houston and raised in Dallas, Maryanne was born Nov. 17, 1952, the daughter of William Jepson and Rosemary Schaefers Townes, who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Bishop Lynch High School and received her B.S. and M.S. in political science from Southern Methodist University. She also received her Ph.D. in industrial engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with honors, receiving her M.S. in software engineering from the University of Maryland, where she was a member of the National Honors Society and Phi Kappa Phi.       ...
